Δύο ελληνικά μετάλλια στην Βαλκανική Ολυμπιάδα Πληροφορικής | Ελλάδα | Η ΚΑΘΗΜΕΡΙΝΗ

Δεκάδες μαθητές γυμνασίου και λυκείου, από δώδεκα βαλκανικές χώρες και την Ιταλία, διαγωνίσθηκαν στην 27η Βαλκανική Ολυμπιάδα Πληροφορικής «BOI» που διεξήχθη στην Αθήνα.

Η ελληνική ομάδα κατέκτησε δύο μετάλλια, ένα χρυσό (Ευάγγελος Πίπης, Ευαγγελική Σχολή) και ένα χάλκινο (Αναστάσιος Παναγόπουλος, Πειραματικό Γενικό Λύκειο Πατρών).

Για τον Ευάγγελο Πίπη, δεν ήταν η πρώτη συμμετοχή σε διεθνή διαγωνισμό, αλλά ήταν σίγουρα ιδιαίτερη. «Έχω πάρει πάλι χρυσό, στην περυσινή βαλκανιάδα. Αλλά το φετινό βραβείο έχει ιδιαίτερη αξία για μένα προσωπικά, γιατί στην παγκόσμια Ολυμπιάδα δεν είχα καταφέρει να πάρω το χρυσό. Έχει σημασία γιατί δεν τα παράτησα, συνέχισα και τα κατάφερα», ανέφερε μιλώντας στο ΑΠΕ-ΜΠΕ.

Η διοργάνωση της ΒΟΙ στην Αθήνα είχε ιδιαίτερη σημασία και για τους Έλληνες διοργανωτές, αφού πραγματοποιήθηκε φέτος για πρώτη φορά μετά από 14 χρόνια στην Ελλάδα. Η προηγούμενη φορά, ήταν στη Ρόδο το 2005. Μάλιστα, η ικανοποίηση από το αποτέλεσμα της διοργάνωσης και τον αριθμού των συμμετεχόντων προκάλεσε αισιοδοξία στους διοργανωτές, ότι οι προσπάθειες για να φιλοξενήσει η Ελλάδα τη Διεθνή Ολυμπιάδα Πληροφορικής το 2024, θα ευοδωθούν.

«Η Βαλκανιάδα είναι μία πολύ ωραία εμπειρία και ειδικά φέτος, που είχα την ευκαιρία να γνωρίσω και πολλούς άλλους Έλληνες που ασχολούνται με την Πληροφορική», είπε ο Ευάγγελος Πίπης και πρόσθεσε ότι τα μετάλλια που κερδίζει η ελληνική ομάδα στους διεθνείς διαγωνισμούς πληροφορικής έχουν μεγαλύτερη βαρύτητα από εκείνα των άλλων χωρών, γιατί οι Έλληνες μαθητές δεν ξεκινούν από την ίδια αφετηρία. «Το μάθημα της Πληροφορικής που διδάσκεται στο σχολείο δεν επαρκεί και τα περισσότερα παιδιά διαβάζουν μόνα τους κώδικα και γλώσσες προγραμματισμού. Και είμαι πολύ χαρούμενος που παίρνουμε μετάλλια, απέναντι σε χώρες με μεγάλη παράδοση και προετοιμασία στο αντικείμενο αυτό», είπε.

Άλλο ένα ιδιαίτερο χαρακτηριστικό της φετινής ΒΟΙ ήταν ότι για πρώτη φορά, δόθηκε χρυσό μετάλλιο σε μαθήτρια, στην Μαρία Τούντοσε από τη Ρουμανία, η οποία μάλιστα ήταν το μοναδικό κορίτσι που συμμετείχε στη διοργάνωση. «Οι περισσότεροι πιστεύουν ότι ο προγραμματισμός, ο κώδικας, όλα αυτά είναι τομέας γένους αρσενικού. Αλλά δεν το νομίζω. Ακόμα κι αν είναι έτσι, αυτό δεν θεωρώ ότι είναι εμπόδιο, αν κάποιο κορίτσι ενδιαφέρεται για αυτά», τόνισε μιλώντας στο ΑΠΕ-ΜΠΕ η Μαρία Τούντοσε. «Φυσικά, είμαι πολύ υπερήφανη για το χρυσό, γιατί είναι αποτέλεσμα πολλών ωρών δουλειάς. Πιστεύω ότι συνεχίζοντας με την ίδια όρεξη, θα φέρω περισσότερα και καλύτερα αποτελέσματα. Και ποιος ξέρει, ίσως σιγά-σιγά τα επόμενα χρόνια γίνουμε περισσότερα τα κορίτσια που θα συμμετέχουμε σε τέτοιους διαγωνισμούς», πρόσθεσε.

Η Βαλκανική Ολυμπιάδα Πληροφορικής BOI (Balkan Olympiad Informatics) διεξήχθη στην Αθήνα μεταξύ 9 και 14 Σεπτεμβρίου και συμμετείχαν δεκάδες μαθητές δευτεροβάθμιας εκπαίδευσης, οι περισσότεροι εκ των οποίων μαθητές Β’ λυκείου.

Δώδεκα Βαλκανικές χώρες έλαβαν μέρος στο διαγωνισμό: Αλβανία, Βόρεια Μακεδονία, Βοσνία-Ερζεγοβίνη, Βουλγαρία, Ελλάδα, Κύπρος, Μολδαβία, Μαυροβούνιο, Ρουμανία, Σερβία, Σλοβενία και Τουρκία. Επιπλέον, στο διαγωνισμό συμμετείχε και η Ιταλία, ως φιλοξενούμενη χώρα.
